My favorite beaches in Skane

My favorite beaches in Skane

Skåne is the southernmost province of Sweden. Its climate is more milder than the raw one with which we usually associate Sweden. Thanks to this, in summertime the local beaches are willingly visited by locals and visitors. During the Erasmus in Lund, I experienced 30 degrees of heat and refreshing bathing in the Baltic Sea at the end of May. My Friends didn’t want to believe that it was possible to catch the first tan in Sweden and at the same time cool off in the Baltic Sea in the end of May. The Skåne coast is long and diverse, so I’m sure that everyone will find something that fits your needs. 😉 But let me show you My favorite beaches in Skane! 🙂

How to get to beaches in Skåne?

Although Malmo has a direct access to the Sea and even its own beach, the real inhabitant of this city won’t take an advantage of it. For the majority of residents, the Malmo beach seems to be unattractive and very neglected. At most suitable for theirdogs who seem to be happy here. Therefore, the Swedish beaches in Skåne are very well connected with the other cities lying more inland. The schedule of buses and trains for all the beaches listed below can be found here. In my case, the trip most often began in Lund or Malmo.

Lomma Beach

This is the most popular and most visited beach near Malmo. It takes only 20 minutes to get to this beach (also from Lund). A perfectly developed area – pubs, hotels, restaurants, fishing harbor, etc. attracts a lot of people here. Both young and old. The wide beach will easily accommodate all people. The crystal-clear water and gently sloping terrain encourage to sea bathing. No wonder Malmo residents prefer to come here than stay at their beach! 🙂

Bjärred

Bjärred Beach, which is further north, can be an alternative to Lomma Beach. Maybe it’s not as impressive as the beach in Lomma, but it can boast (apparently) the longest pier in Sweden! Its length is almost 0.5 km, and from the shore it is difficult to see its end. Especially that at the end is located a restaurant, a sauna and an open swimming pool. The perfect place for weekend laziness. Here you can read exactly what the mysterious house at the end of the pier offers! Remember, that the road to it back and forth is 1 km! 😛 Also, keep one thing in mind. I visited Bjärred only in the winter (I just preferred to go to Lomma) and if the wind was almost imperceptible at the shore, on the halfway down the pier it started to blow so much as if it wanted to break our heads! 😛 Interestingly, even 500 meters from the shore, the Baltic Sea was surprisingly shallow!

Falsterbo

This time we are moving to south Sweden, namely to Falsterbo. Traveling to this place will take us a little more time, but if we like peace and quiet, then Falsterbo is the perfect solution! With a bit of luck you can even meet Seals here. You can read more about it in a separate entry from this wonderful place. 🙂

Ystad

Ystad is not only a beautiful city, about which I already mentioned here, but also one of the most popular holiday destinations chosen by the Swedes. There are plenty of bungalows and wide, sandy beaches just outside the city. Personally, I didn’t have the opportunity to check them out, but my close friends were very praiseworthy! Therefore, I briefly mention this place. 😉

Pier 🙂

That’s all what I’ve prepared for you. I hope that My favorite beaches in Skane will encourage you to visit at least one of them! 🙂
